The “A Century of Child Mobility: The History of Stroller Production” conference, scheduled for October 17-18, 2024, in Käru, Estonia, will delve into the evolution of children’s transportation in Latvia, Estonia, and Germany through a historical lens. The conference will explore the connection between mobility and access to public services and the advancement of women’s rights.
On the first day, participants will discuss the history of stroller (pram) production in Estonia, Latvia, and Germany during the 19th and 20th centuries. The second day will focus on museology and the development of community museums.
This conference offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into the historical context of child mobility and its impact on society. It will also shed light on the important role of community museums in preserving and promoting cultural heritage.
